Producer Gateway Features
Tally lights
Concept | Description |
Destination | A single entity that receives status from one or more sources in Producer. Configured with settings (e.g., IP address, protocol version). |
Tally Software | Multiple sources mapped to multiple display addresses. |
Multiviewer | Multiple sources mapped to multiple display addresses. |
Camera/Light | One source mapped to one display address. |
๐ Note: A display address can be used to identify a specific light within tally routing software or a multiviewer. For example, in a 3x3 multiviewer, the different screens are assigned display addresses ranging from 1 to 9. When setting up a destination, each of the nine sources in the Producer can be mapped to a specific viewer using its display address. When a destination is linked to an individual light, it may expect to receive a specific display address, or it might not be particular and could respond to any display address sent.
Configuring destinations
When adding or editing a destination you have the following options:
Parameter | Description |
Title | Display name of the destination inside Gateway. |
Protocol | Can be either TSL UMD v3.1 or TSL UMD v5, depending on the version supported by the destination hardware or software. |
Protocol | Can be either TSL UMD v3.1 or TSL UMD v5, depending on the version supported by the destination hardware or software. |
IP Address | The IP address of the destination on the local network. |
Port | The port the destination is listening on, either configured on the destination or found in its documentation. |
Transport | Tally signals can be sent over either UDP or TCP, depending on how the destination is configured or what it supports. |
Send all signals on the left and right tally | TSL UMD v5 only) When enabled, preview (green), program (red), and both (amber) will be sent to both the left and right-hand tally lights. When disabled, the preview goes to the left, and the program to the right. |
When adding a new destination, it will appear in the list of destinations. Each destination can be individually enabled or disabled using the toggle. Additionally, from the context menu in the top right, you can edit or delete the destination.
Mapping sources
The last step in setting up a destination is to map the sources from which you want to send status updates to the display addresses that the destination is monitoring. You can add a source by clicking the plus button and remove it by clicking the delete icon on the corresponding row.
๐ Note: D v3.1 supports display addresses from 0 to 126, and TSL UMD v5.0 supports addresses from 0 to 65,535.
๐ก Tip: It may be helpful to verify that the Gateway is correctly configured for a destination without switching sources into preview or program mode in Producer. To facilitate this, we have test buttons for each destination that will briefly illuminate the tally lights before returning to their proper state.
