Key bindings allow you to customise your keyboard and device shortcuts when using Live Clipping. Key bindings are fully customisable and allow you to optimize and enhance your experience when Live Clipping. Some of the key features are:

  • Create action, source, and position-specific key bindings

  • Create key binding integrations with external devices

  • Create organisation and device-specific key binding profiles

How to create Key Bindings

  1. Key Bindings can be accessed via the top navigation bar.

  2. Create a profile to assign the key bindings to.

📕 Note: Profiles are shared across the organisation and need to be set to ‘Active’ before they can be used. Only one profile can be active on a device at the same.

📕 Note: By default, profiles are pre-loaded in every account which cannot be deleted. You can duplicate this and then edit the profile to build the foundations of your profile.

Profile scope

Profiles are exclusive to the scope and are therefore only displayed based on whether you are using Live Clipping or Producer. Therefore, you cannot set up a profile which includes actions from both Live Clipping and Producer.

Most recently focused tab takes priority

When you click on a tab or otherwise navigate to it and interact with it, this tab is now the most important. It will determine the rest of the behaviour.

Key bindings will only respect one scope at a time

Key binding will either work on Producer, or Live Clipping, but never across both at the same time. To switch between scopes, you will need to focus a tab on the scope you want your key bindings to work for.

Producer is treated as a multi-tab application

Key bindings will be executed across all tabs when you have multiple tabs open in Producer. For example, if you have the control room and audio mixer open in separate tabs, and the control room is the focused tab, key bindings will still execute for the audio mixer.

Live clipping is treated as a single-tab application

Key bindings will only execute on one tab at a time for live clipping. This means that if you have 2 tabs with different live clipping views and you have a key binding for “Create marker”, a marker will only be created on the focused tab.

📕 Note: If you have both Producer and Live Clipping open, you would be able to select different profiles in each tab/window which could cause conflict if the profiles have the same keys/buttons assigned to different things.

💡 Tip: For more information on Key bindings in Producer please visit this page.

Functionalities

Multi-Actions

You can combine multiple actions to create more advanced key bindings. There is currently a maximum limit of 15 actions that can be added to a single key bind.

Parameters

Parameters are action-specific options that allow you to define the behaviour of your key bindings. The action you assign will dictate the parameters that are available to you.

Parameters allow you to modify your actions to suit your needs.

Key Trigger

The trigger allows you to assign a key to your binding, once saved, whenever this key is pressed the actions and parameters you assign will be used.

Description

The purpose of the description is to provide you with more context of the key binding that has been created. By writing a description other users can easily identify a key binding and understand its effect when used.

📕 Note: By default, the only device you have access to is the keyboard.

💡 Tip: Keybinding also supports Midi and X-Keys devices. To connect these types of devices you will need to grant browser permissions or manually connect the devices in your browser.
