Safe Areas show where each social platform's own interface — captions, usernames, action buttons, progress bars and share sheets — sits on top of a published video, so users can crop and position content in Live Clipping without important action or graphics being covered after publishing.
This release adds a Safe Areas control to the content preview for every non-16:9 aspect ratio. Users can toggle a single destination's safe area, or select several destinations at once to create a combined safe area built from the minimum shared space across all of them.
Safe Areas are a visual guide only. They are never burnt into the output and have no effect on the exported clip.
Accessing Safe Areas
Select the IN and OUT points of the content in the timeline.
Select the ASPECT RATIO of the clip — for example Square (1:1), Social (4:5) or Vertical (9:16).
Click SAFE AREAS above the content preview to open the destination list.
Select a destination to show its safe area on the preview.
Adjust the crop or reposition the subject so key action sits inside the safe area.
📕 Note: The Safe Areas control appears only for non-16:9 aspect ratios. It is hidden for Landscape (16:9) clips, where platform overlays are not applied in the same way.

Available destinations by aspect ratio
The destination list is filtered by the aspect ratio selected for the clip, so only the safe areas relevant to that ratio are shown.

✅ Tip: Universal is the safest single choice when the destination is not yet decided. It reflects a conservative area that works across the supported platforms for that ratio.
Show a single safe area
Open the SAFE AREAS dropdown.
Click the destination to display — for example TikTok.
A tick appears next to the destination, and the safe area is drawn inside the crop on the preview.
Scrub or play the clip to check the subject stays inside the safe area for the whole duration.
Click the destination again to clear it.
📕 Note: The safe area is drawn relative to the crop, not the source frame, so it moves and rescales with the crop as it is adjusted.
Create a combined safe area
When a clip is published to more than one destination, several safe areas can be selected together. Grabyo then draws a single combined safe area using the minimum shared space across every selected destination — the area that is clear of platform interface on all of them.
Open the SAFE AREAS dropdown.
Click each destination the clip will be published to. Selected destinations are ticked.
The dropdown label updates to show the number of selections — for example 3 areas selected.
A single combined safe area is drawn on the preview, with the icon of each selected platform shown on the guide.
Adjust the crop until the key action sits inside the combined area.

✅ Tip: If the destination is not yet decided, select Universal. It shows the smallest area that is clear on every platform available for that aspect ratio, so content framed inside it is safe wherever the clip is published.
