YouTube templates provide a templated description with channel links and essential info for posting videos. Benefits include:
Faster sharing, saving time and enabling reuse of descriptions
More control by configuring important settings beforehand
Less risk of errors, as admins set defaults like private, reducing training needs and mistakes, especially during fast-paced live events
How to create a template
Navigate to the ORGANIZATION page
Select TEMPLATES from the list of tables
Go to the plus button in the bottom right corner of the screen and hit CREATE PUBLISHING TEMPLATES
Add a TEMPLATE TITLE
Enter the information of your choice within the DESCRIPTION box and Type {{ to add dynamic insert
Select all the relevant settings, such as PRIVACY, CATEGORY, PLAYLIST, TAGS, CONTENT OWNER and POLICY if applicable \
Hit CREATE TEMPLATE to save it
How to use a template
Once a template has been created, this will now appear in the templates dropdown in the share modal to YouTube.
Select a template from the PUBLISHING TEMPLATE drop-down list
Insert a TITLE for your clip
Your clip DESCRIPTION will appear in the
clip.descritpion
section previously designedHit SHARE TO YOUTUBE to publish
📕 Note: If you do not write anything in the sidebar, or the template does not include the clip.description
dynamic insert this line will be empty.
Limitations
Organisations can have up to 50 templates maximum.
Templates will be seen by all users.
Title, playlists and monetisation are not included in this version.
