You can add text on top of your content in a simple way in Producer.

Adding a text overlay

  1. Select + in your chosen layer

  2. Select TEXT OVERLAY

  3. Click on the THREE-DOT ICON on the asset to open the overlay settings

  4. Click on the cog icon to show the text properties

  5. Edit the text field

  6. Adjust FONT STYLE, SIZE, COLOUR and POSITION

  7. Click on the red (+) icon at the bottom of the side panel to add another text field

  8. Click the bin icon (next to the cog icon) to delete a text field

📕 Note: Typing into any text field will immediately update it in preview as you type. To apply the changes on air, push the source to program again and the changes will reflect in the program output.

💡Tip: Colour can be entered as a hex code (e.g. #F03F55), rgb values (e.g. rgb(240,63,85)) or a common colour name (e.g. red or yellow).

Alpha is also supported so your text can be transparent; this can be done as a hex code with an alpha value such as #F03F55B4 or an rgba value like rgba(240,63,85,0.7) either of which will be 70% opacity.

💡Tip: Custom fonts can be set by selecting "Custom font" from the font family list and entering a link to a hosted woff2 font file.

📕 Note: The X and Y positions are within the text overlay source. If the source is full-screen, the coordinates are the same as the source-level coordinates, this means the text overlay can be moved around or shrunk to picture-in-picture and maintain its internal layout.
