Grabyo Ingests allows you to configure your encoder to push a live RTMP stream to Grabyo as the source stream (Push source).

Creating an Ingest

Select the 'Options' icon for the stream you want to update and then select the 'Source' form the menu.

Select 'Push' as the Source stream type then press 'Edit'. This will give you the option to 'Manage Ingests' You can use this to create an Ingest or swap between existing ingests.

After creating an ingest you can set up your encoder to push to the Ingest using the ingest server and stream key (or the ingest stream URL), which you can find by clicking on details of the Ingest you have just created.

We further secure your streams by using a token which is automatically appended to your stream key.

Ingest details

By default we display the RTMP stream urls; if you encoder supports RTMPS you can select the 'SHOW  SECURE (SSL) URLS' to see the RTMPS urls that you can enter into your encoder.

Playback details

The playback URL will allow you to view what is being ingested through the Ingest. Please use this for testing whether your encoder is pushing content successfully.

Tokens

We use tokens to secure the Ingests you create through Grabyo. Please treat this token the same as you would a password as if it is leaked, the security of your Ingest will be compromised. Tokens can be changed (rotated), however you must ensure you update your encoders and monitors to use the updated token once it has been changed.

Regions

Choosing a region for your encoder to push the source stream to is important in order to maintain a reliable source stream. The closer your encoder is to the region of the Ingest the lower the latency and packet losses. Therefore it is very important to select the right region for your Ingest and encoder. Please be careful to select the region closest to your encoder rather than the region closest to the person who will be using Grabyo. If you are using an external service please contact your provider to find out where their encoders are located.
