Sharing to Brightcove

How to add a Brightcove account

  1. Select your USER icon in the top right-hand corner of the page
  2. Select SOCIAL ACCOUNTS from the drop down menu
  3. Select ADD ACCOUNT
  4. Select BRIGHTCOVE from the menu
  5. Enter a NAME
  6. Enter your ACCOUNT ID, CLIENT ID and CLIENT SECRET follow the steps below to access your API details
  7. Select SUBMIT to finish adding your account

 

Accessing your account Id, client Id and client secret

  1. Login to your BRIGHTCOVE account
  2. Select the MEDIA dropdown button, this will reveal your account name and ACCOUNT ID
  3. Select ADMIN then select API AUTHENTICATION
  4. Select REGISTER NEW APPLICATION and input details of the account
  5. Select CMS-VIDEO READ, CMS-VIDEO READ/WRITE, DYNAMIC INGEST-CREATE, DYNAMIC INGEST-PUSH FILES for your EXPOSED BRIGHTCOVE APIs
  6. Take note of the CLIENT ID and CLIENT SECRET

Note: Make sure you take a copy of your CLIENT ID and CLIENT SECRET as you are not able to access them after the initial creation

How to share to a Brightcove account

  1. Select LIVE CLIPPING on the stream that you want to clip from
  2. Select a CAMPAIGN from the drop-down menu on the right-hand side of the page
  3. Set the IN and OUT points of your content
  4. Select a CAMPAIGN and add a SOCIAL MESSAGE
  5. Select your BRIGHTCOVE SOCIAL ACCOUNT and select SAVE AND SHARE
  6. A modal will appear where you enter a TITLE and DESCRIPTION
  7. Add any TAGS
  8. Select an INGEST PROFILE and STATUS
  9. Select SHARE TO BRIGHTCOVE to finish

Note: Geo-targeting will only work if your Brightcove account has this feature enabled. Your upload will still work, but the geo-data will be ignored.
