If you are experiencing difficulties viewing the source stream in the Source Monitor, below are some common issues and steps to troubleshoot.

Video player returns error message (i.e. "No playable sources found" or "ID not found on server")

Troubleshooting:

  • Ensure that your encoder is live and running.
  • When streaming via RTMP, ensure the firewall configuration of the network is not blocking port 1935. To test, perform an RTMP port test using this tool.
  • Check that the encoder is connected to the internet and has sufficient bandwidth to upload the stream. To test, perform a speed test using http://speedtest.net
    • For best results, ensure that your upload bandwidth is at least 1.5x the bitrate of the stream. i.e. For a 720p stream @ 3 Mbps, you'll need an upload bandwidth of of at least 4.5Mbps.
  • Ensure that the encoder has the correct streaming properties set up. See this article for more information.
  • Make sure the source stream URL is correctly entered in Grabyo Studio.
  • Update your browser to the latest version and ensure that Adobe Flash player is installed and up to date.
  • There are some streaming video formats that can be ingested by Grabyo but are not able to be monitored in the Source Monitor (e.g. FLV file type using the H.264 codec). As a last resort please try downloading the VLC media player application and using it to play your source stream URL.
